Mac Microsoft Word Templates Location
To have a template or add-in available whenever you start Word, store the add-in or template in the Startup folder. To find the current location of the startup folder: In Word 2010, 2013, or 2016, select File Options Advanced. In Word 2007, click the Microsoft Office Button, and then select Word. 2020-3-19 I have NOT changed the default location since the installation of Word 2016 for Mac and my templates were initially installed under Word 2011 in the default location and were brought in by Word 2016 during the installation process. This is no big issue, I'm just asking is this file location specific to my installation or is this a thing Word. You can change the default settings for new documents by making changes to the Normal template that new documents are based on. You can modify the Normal template to change its default formatting or content so that any new document that you create will use the new settings. Where are stored the Word macros stored in the hard disk? Where are the Word macros stored in the hard disk to make a backup of them? Word 2011 on Mac with OS X 10.8.3 (Snow Leopard). Create templates in Microsoft Word for Mac to save existing styling as well as text. This can give you a major leg up when filling out forms or creating similar documents regularly. If you create many documents with the same basic layout or starter content frequently, templates are a major time and tedium saver.

Note: You can exclude your database from Spotlight searches as it is unnecessary and can slow down your computer.
Office Settings
AutoCorrect entries (Stored in two locations) The formatted entries are in the Normal template, the office-wide plain-text entries are in the MS Office ACL file.
- MS Office ACL file for the language you are using. E.g. MS Office ACL [English].
- Normal file (If you specify when creating an AutoCorrect that it should be inserted as 'Formatted' then goes in the Normal template (as an AutoText).)

I've also filed a bug with Apple. If I type 4 letters quickly sometimes the first three repeat then I get the 4th letter.3) I have a lot of trouble with the delete/backspace key as well.Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. The Keyboard Setup Assistant freezes on the Identifying Your Keyboard screen of the assistant: after hitting the key to the right of my left shift button, the screen just hangs with'Identifying your keyboard.' Mac laptop not recognising microsoft sculpt keyboard 2017 to computer. I'm on Yosemite (10.10.5) and I'm also unable to use my Sculpt keyboard.

Normal
The Normal Template contains toolbar customizations for Word as well as the default settings for every new Word document not based on another template.
Office X: The Normal file is located in the 'Templates' folder in your 'Microsoft Office' folder. Tip: Put your templates in your Microsoft User Data folder, where they won't be touched if you use 'Remove Office', and set the Project Gallery to find them there. Otherwise, “Remove Office” will delete those files.
Office Word 2004 moves the Normal Template to live in the Microsoft User Data folder by default. It does not move the Templates folder. Put your Templates foder in your Microsoft User Data folder, where they won't be touched if you use 'Remove Office', and set the Project Gallery to find them there.

Favorites are stored in your Preferences folder. Look in the Explorer folder. If you only want to replace your 'new' favorites with your old ones, you can simply replace ~/Library/Preferences/Explorer/Favorites.html with your previous Favorites.html file.
